Bridge & Traffic Monitoring

On a frequently used city bridge connecting the city center with the highway, a sensor system with wireless gateway was installed. Shocks of passing vehicles put the bridge in motion. Algorithms on the gateway computer calculate the bridges Eigenfrequencies and harmonics, which reveals constant information about the bridge's state and condition. Additional sensor nodes capturing acoustic emission are able to count vehicles and axes as well as check for axis loads and types of vehicles.
